INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS VIDEO RECORDING SYSTEM

RESOLUTION #03-288

WHEREAS, in 2002 the Board of Commissioners appropriated $21,500 to upgrade the Board of Commissioners Video Recording system; and

WHEREAS, the vendor providing and servicing the system has filed for bankruptcy, and no longer provides the services necessary to maintain the system; and

WHEREAS, there is approximately $11,000 of the originally allocated $21,500 still available; and

WHEREAS, it is estimated, based on a current proposals, that a system providing improved video recording can be obtained for a cost of approximately $63,000; and

WHEREAS, the County Clerk and County Controller are recommending that current proposals for providing improved video recording as previously outlined be obtained.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners authorizes a transfer of up to $52,000 from the Contingency Account, and that the County Clerk and Controller be authorized to negotiate the final terms of a proposal from Thalner Electronics, Inc.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners authorizes the acceptance of a final negotiated proposal and purchase of the equipment and related service agreement, if recommended by the County Clerk and County Controller, and approved by the County Services and Finance Committees of the Board of Commissioners.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chair and County Clerk are authorized to sign any necessary agreements as approved to form by the County Attorney.
